Since they were used for field telephones, these straps would often find themselves in the hands of signal corps paratroopers who needed to lug around spools of communications wire, and saw multiple combat jumps during D-Day and Operation Market Garden. These straps quickly became a go-to general purpose strap as adjustable ends and 4 hooks made them a prime candidate for carrying ammo cans, field bags, radio equipment, canteens, and much of the alike. Since these particular ST-35 field straps are not dated and are OD-7 colored, they can be anywhere from WW2 through to the Korean War and to the Vietnam War Era.
