Phoenix IR-15 Encodable Strobe Infrared Beacon

Product Description

Phoenix IR-15 Encodable Strobe Infrared Beacon

Use the Phoenix infrared beacon for the covert marking and positive identification of vehicles, personnel, mines, obstructions, landing zones, routes, passages, and airdrop items. It cannot be seen with the unaided eye. This beacon is designed for use with any night vision device such as the AN/PVS-7 or AN/PVS-14.

OPERATION

  1. Attach a standard 9-volt (BA-3090, NSN: 6135-01-1978) dry cell battery.
  2. To enter a user-selected code, use a coin or metallic object to intermittently short the two pins on the top of the housing. A red LED will confirm programming mode. The intermittent shorting may be in a series of DOTS or DASHES up to six seconds in length.
  3. To erase the code, disconnect the battery.

NOTE: Repeated use may cause larger connector on both the battery and the transmitter to spread, resulting in poor connection. Correct by gently squeezing with needlenose pliers.
